The group was launched in July 2006, by a group of local parents/residents, with support from our local councillors and Sheffield City Councils Parks and Countryside Department. The aim is to raise funds to improve and repair the local park to a standard that will enable all the community to enjoy it.
The park is situated on Carterhall Lane, Sheffield S12, behind Charnock Hall Primary School. It is locally known over the years as Charnock Park/playground and Charnock Rec.
We are looking for people, local businesses and volunteers to help us in fundraising events to reach our target of £500,000.

Our aim is to replace the old worn out play equipment, provide safety surfaces under the new equipment and provide more seating areas.
We also would like to raise enough money to create an Environmental area, this could be a nature walk alongside the Hawthorne hedge that runs the length of the field.
This would increase the Biodiversity of the area, and enhance the wildlife that is already present here .
We have consulted with the Local School and Children's centre, Tinsley Tree Project and the City's Ecologist, and all have given very positive feedback on this idea.
The plan would be to link this walk, with signage to the National Curriculum, and it would therefore become a very valuable educational tool for use of the Community.
We need to raise at least £450,000 - £500,000, which is not going to be easy, or quick, but with the support of our local Community we are determined to do our best !
