The Eden Projects ‘The Big Lunch’
A one day get-together for neighbours backed by the Department for Communities amd local government, and partnered by The Big Lottery Fund, Mastercard, Kingsmill, Asda and Halifax, friends and Star Councils.
The idea is to promote social gatherings to give residents the chance to get together, have a chat, and renew old acquaintances and to make new ones. To put people together who might not ordinarily socialise to help generate a real sense of community and togetherness.
The event is now in its 5th year and usually happens during the 1st week of June each year.
Thanks to Maxine, the event took place from 11am in Charnock Park attracting families with their children who enjoyed interacting playing games and having a good time on a lovely sunny day.
There were over 70 people in the park by 1:30pm.
