Continue Reading →The event was scheduled to take place before Christmas 2010 but due to the adverse weather conditions, all the snow we had to postpone until Jan 2011. We hired out the Scout hall on Mansfield Road, Intake and had a fantastic night. We had bingo, a pop quiz, wrap a person in a toilet roll to make a Mummy game, and a disco by Billy Bodkin who entertained us for the night. To top it all some of the Friends group - namely Tracey and Lynne and Traceys husband and son decided to put on an X Factor type turn- no-one knew this was happening and so it came as a complete surprise when the act was announced by Billy. Thanks Billy !

Continue Reading →Yet again we had some fabulous prizes for our Christmas Grand Prize draw, thanks to all our supporters who donated prizes this year- without your support we would not be able to do it . Under our supporters section of this website there will be a list of everyone who helped us out this year. The draw was held on Wednesday 8th December, and was drawn by the children from Mr. Stubb's class at Charnock Hall Primary School- thanks to all involved for making this possible - the children enjoyed participating in the event.
Continue Reading →Friends of Charnock recently had a meeting with Withinreach for advice regarding making Charnock Park more inclusive. The aim being to make the park more accessible and enjoyable for people with disabilities. We have come some way towards this and already have a wheelchair friendly roundabout - one of very few in the city ;a basket swing ;a double seated see-saw and a springie with support.
Continue Reading →The group have applied for funding from the above for the second phase of development at Charnock Park. This is for the fitness circuit around the bottom part of the field, outdoor any age gym equipment, and improvements to the gennel leading from Arnold Avenue on to the Playing field.

Continue Reading →We have learned at short notice from Activity Sheffield that the play rangers van which caters for younger children between 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Thursdays. Will now attend on Thursdays between 12 noon and 2:00pm until 26th August.
